All 130 of the Zendrive Special Edition are gone! This higher-gain version of the Zendrive was designed in a hand-polished cherry wood box. Despite its beauty and originality, working with wood turned out to be a bit of a headache (bordering on a migraine), so it is unlikely to appear again in its original cherry design. However, a metal box version of the SE is being considered. Please let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.

I have one of these and it is absolutely awesome. It can sound like the original Zendrive, but turn the gain up beyond 10:00 or 11:00 and you get the sweetest, violin-like grind, with wonderful compression and sustain. It also preserves your guitar’s fat, round bottom end even better than the other Hermida pedals, which all do a much better job of this than 90% of the pedals out there. Hermidas are some of the few pedals I have heard with bass response as good the Fulltone pedals, and Hermidas have so much more personality – the Fulltones sound like pedals, but the Hermidas, especially this one and the NuValve, which I also have, sound more like the lead channel preamp section of a boutique tube amp!
I would love to have a less pricey, more road worthy, less collectible version of the Zendrive SE to take to jams and gigs with me.
